About the Instructor

Priscilla Chan has been teaching English for over a decade. Her teaching methods produce proven results: not only do her students' grades improve dramatically, but many of her students move on to high school and college/university with the ability to successfully edit their own writing.

Priscilla holds an Honours BA in English and French from York University and a Diploma in Radio and Television Broadcasting from Seneca College. In addition, she completed her Certificate in Creative Writing at the University of Toronto in 2007 and is pursuing a Master of Theological Studies at Toronto Baptist Seminary.

In 1997, she was awarded the $1000 Young Poet’s Scholarship by the International Society of Poets. In 2006, she was awarded the Centre for Mentorship and Theological Reflection Award as well as Intern Scholarship for her "excellence in teaching and passion in communication." In 2007, she was awarded the Toronto Baptist Seminary Mrs. Eileen Maw Memorial Prize for the highest overall average of the returning students. In 2008, her manuscript of short stories was nominated for the Marina Nemat Award at the University of Toronto, School of Continuing Studies.

Professionally, she worked as a Technical Writer for a communications company for over four years. Previously, she had also worked as a Copy Writer as well as an intern News Reporter at CFMT-TV.
