Learning Formats
Grammar & Composition Writing
This consists of weekly one-hour sessions. Students will learn about the
fundamental principles of grammar. They will be required to apply these
principles in weekly grammar exercises and writing assignments. Students
will also learn how to write, organize, and structure essays and research
papers.
Reading
Critically & Building Vocabulary
This consists of weekly one-hour sessions. Students will be assigned
weekly readings, which will be thoroughly discussed in class. They will
also learn to analyze how writers effectively communicate their ideas, and
model after them. Students are expected to write reflection papers based
on what they read. Vocabulary building will be based on words drawn from
the readings.
Creative Writing
This consists of weekly one-hour sessions. Students will read and examine
poetry and stories for inspiration on how to write creatively. To stir
their imagination, students will be given interesting and sometimes
challenging writing assignments. They will also learn to revise their work
after receiving feedback from the instructor.
Conversational English
This consists of weekly 45-minute sessions. Students will learn to express
their ideas orally on a wide range of topics. Discussions may be about
current events, topics of general interest, or assigned readings. Class
improvisations will take place sporadically to teach students to “think on
their feet.” This learning format is ideal for group instruction.

Homework Helper
Need help with editing a school assignment? Book an appointment in advance
with the instructor, and she will go through your assignment with a
fine-tooth comb, helping you iron out grammatical errors and any other
issues.

Beginner French
This consists of weekly one-hour sessions. Students will learn to develop basic skills in both written and spoken French. They will learn grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation.
Intermediate French
This consists of weekly one-hour sessions. Students will learn to develop their oral and written communication skills. By reading and studying different French texts, students will broaden their vocabulary, develop their grammar skills, and improve their French pronunciation.
